Lloyd Mutasa has warned Highlanders against targeting star striker Christian Epoupa in today’s epic clash as such a move will liberate other players to shine on the big stage.
Epoupa has been Dynamos’ leading light upfront downing Caps United with a brace in another big match last weekend and is expected to play a similar role today.
” Christian ( Epoupa)is an intelligent player and if Highlanders targets him, he will play accordingly and allow other players to sparkle. We have Cleopas Kapupurika, Tawanda Macheke and Ocean Mushure who can take advantage of the focus on Christian,” highlighted Mutasa.
” But if you also look closely, it’s all about team work. We play as a unit and complementing each other , Christian and Ocean Mushure have been the most outstanding but it’s all about team work. We just need to remain focused and we have been telling the youngsters not to get carried away because we want to continue picking up maximum points,” added Mutasa.
Dynamos got a reverse fixture 3-0 victory Highlanders through the boardroom after the match was abandoned with the teams tied at 1-1 after Bosso fans through missiles onto the pitch protesting an Epoupa equaliser.
The Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee found Highlanders guilty for the abandonment of the match and awarded Dynamos the game on a 3-0 score line.
Highlanders coach Erol Akbay who was in the eye of a storm recently, became the first coach to beat Dynamos since 2006, completing a double over them last year.
