Zimbabwe National Women’s team managed to grab a point to remain on top of group A after 1-1 draw against Zambia at Barbourfields.
The Mighty Warriors came from behind to take a point home in a physical and competitive encounter. Striker Rutendo Makore scored her fifth goal of the tournament in the second half to restore parity for the home team.
Zambia went in to the lead on the 26th minute mark through Barbara Banda. Though Zimbabwe tried to come back in to the game, it was difficult for them to find the goal before half time.
The second half resumed with the Mighty Warriors much determined and they equalised five minutes into the half through Makore.
The second period was more physical as the tussle for ball position in the mid field became intense.
However the scoreline remained unchanged at the end of ninety minutes with both teams tied at four points in Group A
