Cristiano Ronaldo was far from his best when he returned for Real Madrid on Wednesday night after serving his five match ban.
Real Madrid were beaten 1-0 by Real Betis. A late goal from Antonio Sanabria scored in the 94th-minute shocked Madrid as they won at the Bernabeu in La Liga for the first time in 19 years.
The home side dominated the game but Ronaldo was among the players who wasted chances as Real produced 27 efforts on goal.
His best opportunity to open the scoring came after Gareth Bale crossed him the ball, but the he sliced it over.
A counter attack was then made in the added time by Betis and Sanabria scored the winner to send Betis above their hosts to sixth in the table.
Madrid are yet to win at home in La Liga this season, having drawn with Levante and Valencia before.
