Chibuku Has No Favourites declares Ncube ahead of Highlanders clash

Harare City coach Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube has stocked flames ahead of their Chibuku first round clash against Highlanders at Mandava stadium on Sunday saying the Bulawayo giants are not favourites going into the match.

Ncube who knocked out Highlanders at the quarterfinal stage of the same tournament two years ago while still at How Mine, said Highlanders might be considered a big team but that does not give them an edge over his side.

” Chibuku cup belongs to nobody, its for everyone to win so no team can be regarded as favourites. And there are no underdogs either as results will be shocking,” said Ncube.

” We are playing at Mandava stadium and there is no home advantage for Highlanders. I saw them play against Dynamos and if we just execute our chances, we will beat them. We have been training hard during the week and we are well prepared for the match,”.

Harare City together with FC Platinum are the most successful teams in the Chibuku Super Cup since it was relaunched in 2014.

Harare City were losing finalists in 2014 losing to FC Platinum albeit under controversial circumstances before beating Dynamos in the final a year later. FC Platinum won it in 2014 before losing in the final to Ngezi Platinum last year.
