Northen Region Division One side Herentals are on the brink of gaining promotion to the top-flight football league after missing it last season.
The club has a 22-point lead at the top of the log standings, with seven matches left to play. Blue Swallows are second with 42 points. The two teams will clash at the weekend, where a win would seal a Premier Soccer League promotion for Herentals.
However, the wait for promotion could be over as early as today if Swallows fail to win their game in hand against Cranborne Bullets. A draw in this match could also see Herentals crowned champions.
The college side was promoted to division one in 2015 after they bought Bindura United’s franchise.
Meanwhile Tongogara are leading the Central region log with 55 points, three ahead of second placed Whawha while in Eastern Region Mutare City Rovers are 48 points on top.
