We Let Ourselves Down: Chicken Inn

Chicken Inn were left to rue a string of missed chances as they stumbled once again in their title chase allowing Caps United to steal  the three points in a 1-0 victory at the National Sports stadium.

Chicken Inn were by far the better side on the night but failed to translate the chances and ball possession they had into goals .

They were duly punished eight minutes from time when Dominic Chungwa pounced and finished off a flick from Abasarim Chidiebere.

Chicken Inn assistant coach Julius Ndlovu said they should have beaten the reigning champions early in the first half when momentum was firmly in their favour.

” We have none but ourselves to blame because after dominating for  the better part of the game we failed to score. They just created few chances and scored. We now have to quickly forget about this and focus on the next game against Highlanders at the weekend. Its a big game which we are also looking forward to win,” said Ndlovu.

Chicken didn’t wait long to pin their hosts in their own half with Passmore Bernard and Kuda Kurure  twice hitting the cross bar. Captain Clement Matawu was a constant menace in the midfield initiating most of the attacks.

Chicken Inn came into the match still smarting from a 2-1 defeat to Yadah. They take on Highlanders at the weekend at Babourfields Stadium.
