Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderayi Ndiraya believes the most consistent team among the four in the title race will win the big prize at the end of the season.
Ndiraya whose team has been inconsistent away from home got a hugely crucial 2-0 victory away to ZPC Kariba who hadn’t lost at Nyamhunga stadium in the league this season. The defeat for ZPC Kariba also culminated in Sunday Chidzambwa announcing his resignation from the club at the end of the season.
The win pushed Ngezi into second position just a point behind Dynamos who faltered away to Shabanie Mine at Maglas stadium with a one all draw.
” At this stage of the race you would need to keep on winning. We are all now seeing the title, we are seeing the prize but what is needed is consistency. The most consistent team will win the league title,” said Ndiraya.
” We showed that we have the strength to keep pushing for the championship by winning away to ZPC Kariba a venue that is very difficult to get maximum points, also coached by a very experienced coach in Sunday Chidzambwa. We now need to focus on our next home match against Tsholotsho which is a must win game once again. Tsholotsho are fighting relegation and want a win as well but I feel we want the win more than them,”.
Ngezi Platinum’s cause was helped by the faltering of their rivals in the race with FC Platinum missing out on the chance to claim the top spot after being held to a goalless draw by lowly Yadah while Chicken Inn stuttered in the second game running losing 1-0 to Caps United.
