Dynamos’ captain Ocean Mushure has earned respect not only from his leadership qualities but also from his ability to score magnificent free kicks with his deadly left foot.
The 32 year old fullback has scored marvelous goals from set pieces this season and his biggest show was in August when he netted straight from a corner kick in a match against Black Rhinos. On Thursday, he scored his seventh goal of this campaign in the 6th minute against Shabanie Mine, another breathtaking strike from a free kick.
His coach Lloyd Mutasa has heaped praises on him describing his goal as a spectacular.
“Yes, Ocean is our captain and he is leading by example. He scored a spectacular goal,” said Mutasa.
On the other hand, Shabanie Mine coach Takesure Chiragwi even warned his charges not to commit fouls near the goal because he knows how dangerous Mushure is in dead ball situations.
“I told my boys not to make mistakes or fouls on those areas because I know that Dynamos have a good free kick taker – Mushure. Its unfortunate it happened,” said Chiragwi.
The Glamour Boys left back joins a list of other local legends who made a name in scoring from set pieces. One example is former Dynamos midfielder Francis Chandida. Moses Chunga, another former Dembare player once scored straight from the corner kick.
