Mapeza not happy with the referee

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was left disappointed with  the referee after his team drew with CAPS United at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

A last minute equaliser from Godwin Goriyati cancelled out Kevin Moyo’s goal which had put the hosts in to the lead on the 36th minute mark. The draw came as a blow for the Zvishavane side who were looking for maximum points at all cost to keep up the pace in the title race.

Mapeza questioned the referee’s decision to award a free kick which resulted in a goal after Crispen Machisa was fouled by Gerald Takwara.

“Was that a foul? Such a mistake (by the referee) cost us three points,” he said.

“The guys worked very hard and I give credit to the guys, they played very well. Anyway it’s still game on, we still have a chance and will continue working hard.”

FC Platinum remained third on the log on 53 points. They are currently tied on same points with Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos. However, Dynamos still have a game in hand and will play Harare City this afternoon
