R4 Million Rand bonus for Mukuruva on the cards

[slide]Zimbabwe International Tatenda Mukuruva looks set to earn some big buck as his team has been promised a whopping R4 Million if they win the weekend’s Mtn Super Cup.

Mukuruva turns out for Capetown City who will be facing Supersport in the final of the richest domestic club cup competition in Africa.

The most prized competition in South Africa gives the winners an 8 Million Rand prize money, and Capetown City owner John Comitis promised half the prize money to the players if they lift the trophy.

Mukuruva however does not command a starting place in the team and has warmed the bench in a tightly contested team setup at Capetown City under the watchful eye of coach Bennie McCarthy.

McCarthy did admit in an interview with KickOff that selection in his team is difficult given the quality of his side.

“I’ve already had headaches over the last couple of days – just to select the 18-man squad for this final is a problem,” said

McCarthy. “Some players are going to be disappointed, and rightfully so – I’m having difficulty choosing the 18 players, let alone the 11 I think deserve to be on the pitch.”, McCarthy said.

City will be seeking a second trophy in their 3rd year in ABSA Premiership after having lifted the Telkom Cup in their maiden season in top flight league.
