Shabanie confident of relegation survival

Shabanie Mine technical director Taku Shariwa remains positive hat his side will not be relegated from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this season despite their recent poor form.

Shabanie have only won twice in 11 league games, including a run of 4 one all draws in six league games that has pushed them on the edge of the drop zone.

The latest draw came against fellow relegation candidate Triangle last Saturday, which saw the Bvaru outfit fail to hang on to a win on the stroke of fulltime.

Despite that, Sharikwa has remained calm and urged his players to do the same.

“It is very intriguing that teams that are in the relegation fight are going to face each other. It is unfortunate that we have been dropping points at home. We travel to Harare for the Black Rhinos match and we know How Mine will be difficult, but hopefully, we will garner a point against them,” Shariwa said yesterday.

“We need to beat Hwange and Yadah at home and we are looking at a minimum of nine or 10 points that will suffice for us to survive relegation.”

Shabanie will face Black Rhinos away in their next encounter.
