Oscar Machapa has rejoined CAPS United on a two-year deal after terminating his contract with Congolese club AS Vita last year.
There was speculation that he was going to join Yadah FC after training with the club last year following his departure from the DRC but the utility player who can play either as a defensive or attacking player signed for the Green Machine on Tuesday.
A product of the CAPS juniors, Machapa was thrilled by his return to the club.
“Yes I have signed for CAPS United, this is a club close to my heart because that’s where I was groomed. I am looking forward to the start of the season and be back to playing again,” said Machapa.
Another former Makepekepe player, Simba Nhivi has been linked with a return to the club after being offloaded by Tanzanian side Singida United. Ex-captain Method Mwanjali is also reportedly on the verge of rejoining the 2016 champions after exiting the Tanzanian league where he turned out for Simba SC.
