The Mighty Warriors are through to the second round of Africa Women Cup of nations qualifiers after beating the Gladiators of Namibia 2-0 in the second leg first round qualifier match played at Rufaro Stadium in Harare on Sunday afternoon.

The Zimbabwe Women national team had to defend resolutely in the first half with the Namibian team putting all the pressure. The first goal only came in the 75th minute from Emmaculate Msipha while Mavis Chirandu sealed victory with four minutes left of play.

The win was enough for the Zimbabwean women team after beating the same side 2-0 in the first leg match in Namibia last week thus progressing on 4-0 aggregate win.

With Namibia hurdle now over, Zimbabwe earns a ticket to the second and ultimate qualification round where they will face off with Zambia in a two-legged tie to be played in June, 2018.

The Africa Women’s Cup of Nations will be held in Ghana from November 17- December 1, 2018.
