Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid future ‘decided’

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly set to leave the club after the Copa del Rey final on April 26.

Ancelotti’s future was thrown into doubt following Madrid’s exit from the UEFA Champions League after a 5-1 aggregate defeat to Arsenal.

According to Sky Sports, the 65-year-old will remain in charge until the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona in Seville but is expected to depart the club after the match.

Ancelotti has long been linked with the Brazil national team, and Sky Sports addsthat he could take up the role before the end of the Spanish domestic season.

The Italian rejoined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and has won 11 trophies during his second stint, including two LaLiga titles, two Champions League titles, and the Club World Cup.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, a former Real Madrid player, and former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp are said to be frontrunners to replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
