Tonderai Ndiraya says his Scottland FC side showed their quality after beating FC Platinum 5-2 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 24 encounter played at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
The victory ended the Platinum Boys’ unbeaten run this season and also marked the first time the Zvishavane-based side has conceded five goals in a match under coach Norman Mapeza.
Speaking after the game, Ndiraya said: “I think the quality showed, and I believe that football is always played by quality.
“If you don’t run, then that quality won’t show itself, but for us today, those runs were there and they brought quality and got us a positive result.”
The victory kept Scottland FC in second place with 46 points, just one behind leaders Simba Bhora.
Ndiraya added: “I am also happy with the depth. I think the arrival of new players pushed the guys we already had.”
Scottland made a couple of new signings during the mid-season transfer window, including Malawian striker Khuda Muyaba, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Mafious Chihweta, and Knowledge Musona.
