ZIFA confirms Sharif Mussa’s return to Warriors fold

Sharif Mussa has returned to the Warriors fold as the new general manager of the national team.

Mussa’s appointment was confirmed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), marking his comeback to the national setup for the first time since his resignation in 2017, shortly after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Gabon.

He will now work alongside Clemence Matawu, who retains his role as the Warriors team manager. The new structure means Matawu will continue handling the day-to-day logistical and administrative responsibilities of the squad, while Mussa takes on the broader role of overseeing general team operations and providing strategic support.

Mussa is no stranger to the Warriors, having previously served in various capacities with the national team over the years, and his experience is expected to bring added stability as Zimbabwe push for qualification in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and other upcoming competitions.
