The locally based players in the Warriors squad, together with the technical team, have arrived in Durban ahead of their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C match against South Africa on Friday.
The group, which includes Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Godknows Murwira, Walter Musona, Emmanuel Jalai, and Martin Mapisa, will link up with the South Africa-based quartet of Washington Arubi, Thando Ngwenya, Elvis Chipezeze, and Divine Lunga. The foreign-based players are expected to fly directly from their respective bases in the coming days.
Assistant coach Takesure Chiragwi did not travel with the team after stepping down from his post following a controversial incident during a league match on Sunday.
The Warriors will face South Africa at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on October 10, before completing their campaign against Lesotho three days later at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Although Zimbabwe were eliminated from the qualifiers last month, the two matches will serve as valuable preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
