Three African teams have so far secured their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the latest round of qualifiers.
This brings the total number of confirmed participants to nineteen, including co-hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The latest nation to book their ticket is Egypt, joining Tunisia and Morocco among the African qualifiers.
Ghana are virtually assured of qualification — their spot will only be in doubt if they lose their final match to Comoros, and Madagascar not only beat Mali but also overturn an eight-goal deficit in goal difference.
Africa has nine direct slots plus one intercontinental playoff spot, and the remaining automatic berths will be confirmed in the coming days.
No European teams have qualified yet, as the UEFA qualifiers are still in progress.
