Dynamos reveal staggering fine bill as chairman urges fans to change behaviour

Dynamos chairman Vincent Chawonza has revealed that the club has already paid more than US$15,000 in fines during the current Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, with crowd misconduct continuing to cost the Harare giants heavily.

Speaking to the Chronicle on the growing financial burden caused by supporter behaviour, Chawonza said the fines have mainly stemmed from incidents involving missile throwing and pitch invasions.

“The club has been having a lot of fines this season. Last year we paid US$32,700 and this season we are already around US$15,000 in fines.

“These fines are constituted mainly by missile throwing and pitch invasion, which are avoidable.

“We’re calling our fans to avoid such acts because you pay US$2,000 for just missile throw, even throwing one missile,” said Chawonza.

The financial toll could rise even further, with Dynamos expected to face additional sanctions once the Premier Soccer League delivers its verdict on the abandoned league match against Hardrock.

The fixture was called off under controversial circumstances and remains under investigation by the PSL, with both clubs awaiting a final determination.
