Hardrock FC’s Matchday 21 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture against CAPS United on Sunday will go ahead with supporters in attendance despite the club recently being handed a one-match behind-closed-doors sanction by the PSL.
The clarification follows the PSL Disciplinary Committee’s ruling in the matter involving Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC after their abandoned league match at Chahwanda Stadium.
The Premier Soccer League confirmed that the punishment will not apply to this weekend’s fixture, saying: “Hardrock FC’s scheduled Matchday 21 home fixture against Caps United FC will proceed on Sunday 5th July with spectators in attendance.”
The league explained that the decision was made because online and advance ticket sales had already begun before the disciplinary judgment was delivered.
“When the judgement was delivered, online and advance ticket sales had already commenced. This decision has been made to avoid inconveniencing our valued stakeholders who have already purchased tickets for the scheduled match.”
Instead, the one-match behind-closed-doors sanction will be enforced during Hardrock’s next home fixture.
“Hardrock FC’s one home match behind closed doors will be played during the club’s next home fixture, the Matchday 23 encounter against Triangle United FC which is yet to be scheduled.
“The PSL further advises that specific details regarding the completion of the abandoned Hardrock FC vs Dynamos FC match will be released in due course in accordance with the PSL rules and regulations.”
