Zimbabwe international Tawanda Chirewa has emerged as the latest Warriors player to be linked with a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the current transfer window.
According to Football League World, the 22-year-old attacker could be set for another loan spell after returning to Wolves following his time at Barnsley. The report suggests another temporary move would provide Chirewa with regular first-team football as he continues his development.
Chirewa remains highly rated by Wolves, but opportunities in the Championship side’s first team are expected to be limited, making another loan the most likely option ahead of the new season. The Zimbabwe international has previously spent loan spells at Derby County, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley but he only made a total of twenty appearances in all those stints.
The winger is the second Warriors star to be linked with a Wolves exit this transfer window after fellow Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi attracted interest from Nottingham Forest and French side Paris FC.
Earlier reports indicated that both clubs were monitoring the midfielder’s situation, although Paris FC have since cooled their interest. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s pursuit has also appeared to lose momentum following managerial changes at the Premier League club, leaving Munetsi’s immediate future at Wolves less certain.
