Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi put in a strong shift for Wolverhampton Wanderers as they secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Stoke City in the Championship on Saturday.
Munetsi played 77 minutes and earned an Afriscores match rating of 7.5/10 after an energetic and disciplined display in midfield.
The Warriors midfielder completed 15 of his 16 passes for an impressive 94 percent passing accuracy, while also contributing defensively with five clearances and one tackle.
His aggressive approach, however, saw him commit three fouls, the most by any Wolves player.
Fellow Zimbabwean Tawanda Chirewa was introduced in the 83rd minute and came close to adding a fifth for Wolves when his curling effort was deflected over the crossbar.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Jordan Zemura played the full 90 minutes as Watford drew 1-1 with West Ham United.
The full-back recorded five clearances and two tackles, including an important challenge to deny Jarrod Bowen. He also completed 32 of 41 passes and provided a threat from set-pieces, while a blocked effort late in the first half added to his attacking contribution.
Lincoln City defender Tendayi Darikwa missed the weekend’s action as he began his rehabilitation following a season-ending ACL injury.
Reading, meanwhile, were not in action, meaning Andy Rinomhota did not feature in League One.
Leon Chiwome came off the bench in the 57th minute for Colchester United in their 1-0 win over Rochdale, while Sean Fusire was not involved as Sheffield Wednesday thrashed Bromley 7-2.
In Scotland, Tawanda Maswanhise scored an early goal but endured a mixed afternoon as Motherwell were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by St Mirren.
Maswanhise opened the scoring in the second minute after making an explosive start, but missed the chance to complete a first-half hat-trick.
He fired wide when clean through on goal before seeing his penalty, awarded for handball, saved.
In Denmark, Munashe Garan’anga started for Lyngby BK in their 1-1 draw against Odense Boldklub.
The Warriors contingent in Greece was also in action, with Marvelous Nakamba featuring for Panetolikos and Aris striker Tinotenda Kadewere also seeing action.
Meanwhile, Belgium-based winger Bill Antonio remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from injury.
