AmaZulu have cheekily reminded a fan that Thando Ngwenya is a Zimbabwean after the supporter questioned why the striker had not been included in the latest Bafana Bafana squad.
The fan, using the X handle Thokozani kaSimon, queried why the AmaZulu forward had not received a call-up after his impressive start to the Betway Premiership season.
βHow come a player that is a leading goal scorer is not in Bafana Bafana squad? Ngwenya deserves a call up,β the fan wrote.
AmaZulu responded with a short but cheeky five-word reply:
βBut he is a Warrior πΏπΌ.β
Ngwenya has scored eight goals in six games across all competitions and is currently leading the Betway Premiership scoring chart with six goals from five games.
His form has earned him a place in the Zimbabwe national team.
The striker was included in Warriors coach Ramon Catalaβs squad announced on Saturday for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Zimbabwe are scheduled to face Sierra Leone on 24 September before hosting DRC four days later on 28 September.
The venues for the two matches have not yet been officially confirmed.
