Zimbabwe Football Association is set to appoint an Ad Hoc Committee of Inquiry to investigate Sheasham Football Club’s withdrawal from the Zimbabwe Central Region Soccer League.
Sheasham announced its withdrawal from the Central Region on Saturday. The move was later confirmed by the league the following day.
In a statement after its Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday, ZIFA said the move followed recommendations from the Legal and Player Status Committee.
“The Executive Committee resolved to constitute an Ad Hoc Committee in accordance with Article 55 of the ZIFA Statutes,” read part of the statement.
The committee will include a legal practitioner as chairperson, a sports administrator as deputy, and a former referee as member.
Its mandate is to probe the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal, determine if internal remedies were exhausted, and assess the league’s response.
ZIFA said the committee must submit its findings within seven working days.
“This process shows our commitment to fairness and integrity in football.”
