Germany Bundesliga club Cologne are now reportedly leading the race to sign Zimbabwean midfielder Marvelous Nakamba.

According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the German side has already started negotiations with Club Brugge who want nothing less than £20m.

Cologne recently gained promotion back to the Bundesliga at the end of the 2018–19 season and are looking to reinforce their squad.

Other teams that have been linked with the 25-year-old include a host of Serie A clubs namely Fiorentina, Atalanta, Torino and Sampdoria who are all said to have sent their representatives to watch Nakamba at the 2019 Afcon tournament.

English Premier League side Aston Villa are also in the mix and appeared to be the favourite to win the race to the signature of the player in the past few days.
