Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura scored his first goal for Watford as the English Championship side secured a 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Zemura came off the bench in the 66th minute before sealing the win in stoppage time, finding the net in the 94th minute after being played through by fellow substitute Rocco Vata.

Another Zimbabwean who reached a career milestone over the weekend was forward Tawanda Chirewa, who opened his senior club career goalscoring account for Wolves in their 2-1 victory over Burnley.

Chirewa came on in the 71st minute and needed just 21 seconds to make his mark, finishing after Mateus Mané intercepted a pass and played him through on goal to score the winner.

Wolves midfielder Marshall Munetsi also featured in the victory, playing the entire 90 minutes.

In League One, Andy Rinomhota played 77 minutes and received a yellow card as Reading suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic. Sean Fusire, meanwhile, did not feature for Sheffield Wednesday in their 5-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon.

In Scotland, forward Tawanda Maswanhise returned to the Motherwell starting XI but could not prevent his side from losing 3-2 to Kilmarnock.

Elsewhere, KV Mechelen forward Bill Antonio played the entire match against Eupen in Belgium, while Warriors duo Marvelous Nakamba and Tinotenda Kadewere also featured for their respective Greek clubs.

However, there was concerning news for Zimbabwe after Munashe Garananga was forced off with an early injury just five minutes into Lyngby’s match against Brøndby IF.
