South African National First Division side Amazulu has officially announced Joey Antipas as their new head coach. As revealed by Soccer24 Antipas signed a contract with the club last week after negotiations over a number of weeks.
AmaZulu’s General Manager, Lunga Sokhela said they were expecting Antipas to lead Amazulu back into the ABSA Premiership.
“We have concluded the paperwork with Mr Joey Antipas and we’re very pleased for the appointment Sokhela told the official club website.
“He’s someone that will definitely bring the wit and experience that we need to rise above this season’s underachievement, and also ensure we are a strong force in challenging for promotion next season.
Chicken Inn are yet to announce a replacement with Antipas expected to leave mid-season. The departure is likely to come as a blow for the Gamecocks who Antipas lead to their first league title in 2015.
