Khama Billiat’s big chance

Khama Billiat could boost his chances of clinching the African Player of Year based in Africa award with a good performance in the CAF Champions League final 2nd leg match against Zamalek today.

Sundowns head into the match with a big advantage having won the 1st leg 3-0. Winning the cup will see Billiat become the first Zimbabwean player to lift the cup

Billiat has been a stand out performer in the African Safari and had a successful ABSA Premiership season that saw him crowned South African footballer of the Year.

Billiat’s impressive form has seen him nominated for both the CAF African Player of the Year and CAF African Player of the Year based in Africa awards.

With star players such as Riyad Mahrez and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang favourites for the Player of the Year award Billiat biggest chance will not doubt be in the CAF Player based in Africa award.

Billiat feels just be recognised is a massive honour for him.

“The people I have worked with have brought the best out of me,” he told Kickoff.com

“It’s a privilege for me, just being nominated. God has taken me to a level where I can be recognised for my work, and it means everything to me. Everyone who was nominated deserves to be there, as they’ve managed to get recognised, it really means a lot to me he added.
