Two FC Platinum players Charles Sibanda and Winston Mhango were involved in a road traffic following the game against Harare City on Saturday.
The two players were on their way to Bulawayo after featuring in the Chibuku Super Cup clash victory over Harare City.
A statement from the club read:
FC Platinum wishes to advise its supporters that Winston Mhango and Charles Sibanda who where involved in a car accident yesterday along Zvishavane Bulawayo road are well and recovering in hospital. We wish them a speedy recovery.
The pair had been given a lift a by a friend and the vehicle they were travelling allegedly was involved in a head on collision leading to the friend losing control.
A FC Platinum bar supervisor who was travelling with the players died.
Both players sustained injuries with Charles Sibanda understood to have been more injured than Mhango and were taken to Filabusi District Hospital before being transferred to Mater Dei hospital in Bulawayo.
Sibanda was one of the scorers in the 3-0 win as FC Platinum progressed to the final of the Chibuku Super Cup.
