How Mine hammered St Michesl 5-1  in the CAF Confederation Cup to take a comfortable lead to the reverse fixture in the Seychelles next weekend.

Kudakwashe Musharu bagged a goal in each half to raise his goal tally to five in the Orange Caf Confederations cup campaign.

It took Coach Philani Ncube’s tactical substitution after the breather for the hosts to give a forceful attack upfront.

How Mine turned more lethal than ever as Timothy January and Morris Kadzola upped the tempo in the middle of the park.

A series in raids came from the miners, who were now eying at goal as St Michel employed a defensive approach.

Musharu was at his best as a lone striker and utilised the fast paced passes as they came by. He opened the floodgates at 25 minutes.

He was  lethal upfront, having scored How Mine’s opener just after the first quarter.

With forceful and precise passes from Thembani Masuku and Edmore Muzanenhamo,  How Mine continued mounting pressure upfront.

The defence was hardly tested. Goalkeeper, veteran Ephraim Mazarura was only on spotlight when he faced the penalty spot at 33 minutes.

How Mine’s Nyasha Mukumbi had brought down St Michel’s Hassan Ali, who then equalised for the visitors.

When midfielder Timothy January and former Dynamos playmaker Kadzola came in the second half, How Mine enjoyed even more dominance.

The two players were quite impressive throughout the match. Besides creating in roads, penetrating the St Michel centre field, Kadzola was switching the ball to meet an unmarked Musharu.

Once again substitute Wonder Sithole dragged in the third goal to add more misery to a clueless St Michel.

The hosts enjoyed cutting midway and even unusual goal getters in Edmore Muzanenhamo were threatening in the last quarter.

Muzanenhamo was involved in the second goal scored by Thembani Masuku. Musharu could have made it a hat-trick in the 80th minute but the referee disallowed it for an offside. Five minutes later, St Michel ruined it as the forceful Kadzola was brought down.

Mernad Mupera stepped up to nettef the fourth goal from the spot. Another well curved Muzanenhamo cross that landed on well positioned Musharu finished the goal harvest for How Mine.
