Zimbabwean international Willard Katsande has explained the physical side to his game.
The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder who has earned a reputation as hard man or midfield enforcer in the ABSA Premiership told Soccer Laduma that he practised to be that way to scare away opponents.
“I had to train myself to be hard so that my opponents were scared of me. That’s why I am just hard, not rough. I’ve said before, I don’t play rough, just tough and hard Katsande told the publication.
“It started when I was still young playing at home in Zimbabwe. I always wanted to win the ball. Whether it was in a smart way or not, I always wanted to win that ball .
Katsande was handed the captain’s armband for Zimbabwe’s AFCON qualifier against Guinea and was one of the star performers in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw.
