The Warriors secured a 3-1 against Lesotho in a CHAN qualifier at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.
Zimbabwe failed to break down Lesotho in the first half with the match goalless at the break.
However the second half saw the Warriors imposing themselves more. An impressive Rodreck Mutuma grabbed the opener in the 47th minute from the penalty spot after Knox Mutizwa had been brought down in the box.
Ten minutes later Mutuma grabbed a second for the Warriors.
However Zimbabwe got Lesotho back into the game when they conceded to make it 2-1.
With under 10 minutes to go captain Danny Phiri gave the Warriors a cushion with a well taken goal to seal the win.
The win will see Zimbabwe go to Lesotho for the second leg with much confidence and hopeful of qualifying for another CHAN edition set for Rwanda early next year.
