The Harare derby between Dynamos and CAPS United finally lived up to expectations as it ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw at Rufaro Stadium.
Takesure Chinyama’s goal was cancelled by Leonard Tsipa’s header in the second half.
CAPS United had a bright start and restricted Dynamos to defending in the early stages of the game but failed to capitalise.
Tsipa came closest when he connected onto Bamusi’s cross but a deflection made sure the ball just missed the goal post.
By the half hour Dynamos had got themselves back in the game and started creating chances of their own. In the 37th minute both Mutuma and Mukanga failed to get on the end of ball flighted into the box.
CAPS United had a good end to the half with Bamusi forcing a good save from Tatenda Mukuruva. The halftime break came with the score still goalless.
Dynamos had a better start to the second half and threatened to open the scoring and in the 54th minute Walter Mukanga goal bound effort was saved by Muchambo in goal for CAPS United
Around the hour mark Tonderai Ndiraya made a tactical change when he took of Mutuma for Chinyama. The move paid off in the 74th minute when Ronald Chitiyo made a bursting run before crossing and Chinyama made no mistake scoring the opener.
The lead though only last six minutes when a harmless looking free kick into the box was met by Tsipa who headed in to give CAPS United the equaliser.
The last ten minutes were nail biting as both teams looked for the winner .Chungwa came close for CAPS United but could not keep his effort down while Chinyama went even closer hitting the wood work before Chitiyo saw his shot blocked.
But the score was to remain 1-1.
