Zimbabwean born Jomo Cosmos striker Charlton Mashumba was on target yesterday as they beat Chippa United 4-3 in the ABSA Premiership.

It was only Jomo Cosmos’ second win of the season. Mashumba opened the scoring in the 20th minute beating Daniel Akpeyi in goal for Chippa United.

Mashumba now has two goals this season after an initial poor start to the season having lead Cosmos the promotion scoring 19 goals in the NFD last season.

Despite Chippa United coming back into the game having trailed 3-0 Cosmos held on to clinch the needed maximum points.

Cosmos are now in 14th spot on the log table with ten points from 11 games this season.

Bidvest Wits lead the standings with 26 points from 11 games while Mamelodi Sundowns are in second place with 23 points.
