Didier Drogba fancies becoming Chelsea manager

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has revealed that he could return to Stamford Bridge to manage the Blues at some point in the future.

At 37, the legendary Ivorian is nearing the end of his playing career, but Drogba, who netted 164 goals in two spells in West London, would like to come back one day.

“I want to give back to the club which has given so much to me. I have agreed that with the club directors,” the Montreal Impact striker told BBC Sport.

“Why not manager? Why not sporting director, trainer at the academy or maybe an advising role for strikers?”

In 2012, Drogba netted an 88th-minute equaliser in the Champions League final with Bayern Munich as the clash ended 1-1 in regulation, and once again after extra time.

During the penalty shootout, the former Marseille marksman scored the winner to give Chelsea their first ever European Cup success.

He re-signed for Chelsea on a season-long loan last term, before helping them and him to a fourth Premier League title.
