Warriors defender Elisha Muroiwa has been ruled out of Warriors next CHAN 2016 match against Mali due to injury.
The tough Dynamos defender who appeared to have commanded the centre back position well in the 1-0 loss to Zambia sustained a deep cut below the left eye after clashing with Zambian defender Stephen Kabamba in an aerial tussle with the DeMbare man also suffering a brief concussion in the process.
The Zambians capitalised on Muroiwa’s absence receiving treatment to grab the solitary goal and registered their win.
Muroiwa will now be replaced by Stephen Makatuka at the heart of defence.
Zimbabwe will play their next match against Mali on Saturday.
Despite Muroiwa’s injury, the Warriors technical bench confirmed that all the other players are fit and raring to go though captain Hardlife Zvirekwi will still be assesed by the medical team for a cut sustained above the knee.
