Dynamos and Highlanders will receive a financial reward for their participation in the upcoming Bob 92 ZIFA Cup.
The two Zimbabwean football giants will clash over two legs as part of celebrations to mark the birthday of President Robert Mugabe. The first leg is set for Barbourfields Stadium this weekend with the return leg in Harare on the 19th of March.
The tournament has been criticised over the years due to poor organisation and poor remuneration for clubs but the organisers have promised that things will be different this year around.
ZIFA will also be part of the organisation and spokesperson of the annual tournament Charles Mabika indicated that they are still finalising prize monies with sponsors of the tournament who are yet to be revealed.
Both teams are keen on using the matches to prepare themselves ahead of the upcoming league season.
Both teams have foreign coaches in charge with Dynamos lead by Paulo Jorge Silva while Dutchman Erol Akbay is leading Highlanders.
Silva’s future though is under discussion with the Dynamos executive set to meet to decide his fate after a number of incidents with players and his technical staff.
