The Mighty Warriors will get a boost to their Olympic Games preparations with a friendly match against Banyana Banyana on Sunday at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
The two teams are Africa’s representatives in the Women’s football category at the Games to be hosted by Brazilian city Rio De Janeiro.
Banyana Banyana head coach Vera Pauw feels the game will help both teams ahead of the games.
The two teams will use the occasion to launch final preparations towards Rio. We are grateful to them (Zimbabwe) agreeing to come here at such a short notice. I hope the fans will come in numbers to watch this encounter as this is something that might not happen more often.
Zimbabwe is in Group F against Canada, Australia and Germany while South Africa is Group E alongside Brazil, Sweden and China.
