The Warriors piled on the pressure from the onset with Mashumba and Tarumbwa getting early chances but had to wait until the 23rd minute to go in front courtesy of a Ronald Pfumbidzai penalty.
From there it was one way traffic as Zimbabwe soon added a second with the lively Marshall Mudehwe heading in the 37th minute.
Halftime came with the Warriors in control but needing three more goals in the second half to stand a chance of proceeding to the next stage. The goals did come with Lawrence Mhlanga scoring a brace while Teenage Hadebe scored as well.
