Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa has expressed concern over Khama Billiat and is keen to rest him for the final AFCON qualifier against Guinea next month.
Zimbabwe have already qualified as Group L winners and will take on Guinea in Conakry on 3 September.
Billiat was crowned ABSA Premiership Footballer of the Year after a wonder season with Mamelodi Sundowns and has continued with his fine form in the CAF Champions League.
However Pasuwa fears Billiat may burn out and is in need of a rest. “I would say the issue of Billiat is something that we are seriously looking at Pasuwa told the Herald. The young man has not had any rest to talk about added Pasuwa.
Pasuwa says resting Billiat for the match against Guinea would be the right thing to do especially with the AFCON 2017 only months away. The Warriors will miss the services of Hardlife Zvirekwi who is suspended for the match for accumulating yellow cards.
