Tapuwa Kapini was named man of the match as Highlands Park beat Chippa United 2-0 in the last 16 of the Telkom Knockout Cup on Friday night.
Kapini who retained the club captaincy despite the arrival of Gordon Igesund , made a number of key saves to keep out Chippa United’s.
Collins Mbesuma and Edwin Sitayitayi scored for Highlands Park.
However Chippa United coach Dan Malesela was left furious by Kapini’s antics and felt it went against the spirit of game. Malesela felt Kapini deliberately wasted time during the game.
“I’m not impressed with the tactics that we employ as coaches said Malesela after the game. If our goalkeepers are going to lie everytime and while time away that’s not good for the game. It’s not building South Africa he added.
