Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa has reportedly gone five months without being paid. The news comes as the national team attempts to step up its preparations for the upcoming AFCON 2017 tournament in Gabon.
ZIFA benefactor Wicknell Chivayo who had promised to take care of Pasuwa’s salary has not been fulfilling his obligation according to Newsday along with other commitments.
A highly placed source quoted by Newsday said, “He has not been paid for the past five months. Things have not been good for him even though he is soldiering on. You wonder whether there are trying to frustrate him added the source.
In addition to not paying Pasuwa the bulk of Warriors are yet to get the money promised for clinching AFCON qualification.
Chivayo had promised the squad a $250 000 bonus to the players but is yet to deliver. Foreign based players that include Knowledge Musona and Costa Nhamoinesu were handpicked though and received cash and were taken on shopping sprees.
