ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa says the association has landed an official corporate sponsor for the Warriors ahead of AFCON 2017.

The sponsor is set to be unveiled by the association in the coming days and will bank roll the Warriors AFCON campaign.

The country’s second biggest mobile operator Netone is believed to be corporate sponsor that ZIFA has secured a deal.

Netone has been in talks with ZIFA this year and has a rich history of sponsoring local football

Chiyangwa said the deal was significant moment for Zimbabwean football. “We have secured a corporate sponsor and this is a landmark development in the history of ZIFA and our football in general and things will never be the same again for us he told the Herald.

National teams have struggled over the years without official sponsorship have to rely on being bank rolled by individuals and well-wishers.
