Tapera speaks on Yadah win

Yadah FC coach, Jairos Tapera, has applauded his troops after extending their premier league unbeaten run with a 1-0 win over Ngezi Platinum at the National Sports on Saturday.

A solitary goal from a direct free kick by Brian Chikwenya 13 minutes into the first half sealed what would be the final result of the encounter.

“I think I’m very happy for the boys. My boys played well, according to what we have been doing the whole of this week, I’m very happy for them.

“I’m also happy for my Prophet [Walter Magaya]. He’s one guy who has been with us every day, every minute. He’s always trying to encourage the team,” Tapera told journalists after the match.

“Overall, I think [we give] respect to the opponent. I think they played very well from start to finish. [From] last time, we knew how they were going to come at us and [today] we only needed one goal to make sure if we don’t lose character, we are going to win.

“Overall, our defence [was good] starting from the goalkeeper – the goalkeeper was probably the man of the match for me. He did very well. Our defence solid from start to finish, they were so organised. Going forward, we could have scored another goal if we had been accurate. But I think I’m very happy and content with the one goal that we got.

“Like I said before, I think we emphasise on these young boys. Many of them were playing first division last year and going so far with these results, I applaud them. I think they have to work very-very hard if they are to keep the momentum so that they don’t lose focus,” he said.
