Norman Mapeza is set to continue as the interim head coach of the Zimbabwe national team according to ZIFA.

Mapeza was in charge for the hastily prepared international friendly against Zambia last month and will now take charge of the Warriors first AFCON qualifier against Liberia on the 11th of June.

ZIFA vice president Omega Sibanda told the Herald, “Norman will be the Warriors coach against Liberia when we begin our 2017 AFCON campaign and right now were are completing the relevant processes to ensure that his attachment with the national for the match is above board by engaging his employers FC Platinum who have been very supportive of our national assignments.

Last month ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa admitted the association was not not able to afford a substantive head coach at the moment to replace Callist Pasuwa due to a lack of funds.

Zimbabwe is in a tricky group together with Liberia, DR Congo and Congo
