Tsholostho FC have appointed Darlington Dodo as the new head coach following the resignation of Gift Tawachera from the hot seat two weeks ago, according to reports.
The position has been vacant since Tawachera resigned from the hot seat after the club’s fifth defeat which was a 2-1 loss at the hands of Bulawayo City at home. Tsholotsho have since lost 4-1 to Ngezi Platinum Stars and 2-0 to Chapungu respectively.
“We have appointed Dodo as the head with immediate effect and we are sorting out his registration papers,” Club chairman, Mlamuli Phiri, is quoted as saying by NewsDay.
“He started training with the boys today (yesterday). Hopefully, by the weekend he would have been registered to sit on the bench against Dynamos. He had suggested that he brings with him James Matola as his assistant and while the board is yet to make a decision on that, we have given him the leeway to choose whoever he wants to work with.”
Tsholotsho are being hounded by relegation, sitting on position 18 having managed only four points from 11 outings. They have registered no win yet with the premier league season almost reaching midway having suffered seven losses and recorded four draws.
They have the biggest negative goal difference of -11 having scored just five goals and conceded 16 since the season began in April.
