Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay admits his side struggled against How Mine as the two sides played out a goalless draw at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday

How  Mine dominated proceedings with Highlanders only threatening late in the second half.

Ralph Matema and Tendai Ndlovu both struck the post in quick succession. 

With Prince Dube missing due to national duty and Rahman Kutsanzira out with an injury Highlanders struggled with their game.

King Nadolo was also surprisingly dropped to the bench despite impressing in the last game against Hwange.

“How Mine made it difficult for us to play football,  said Akbay . “We lacked creativity and struggled to create chances. “Our strikers were not sharp enough (in front of goal) as well, “ added Akbay.

Kelvin Kaindu bemoaned not converting their dominance into goals and felt his side had dropped two points.

The result saw Highlanders move into sixth position with 25 points from 15 games.
