Billiat not our target: Tinkler

Eric Tinkler has dispelled reports that SuperSport were about to pounce on Mamelodi Sundowns’ star attacker Khama Billiat.

The Pretoria based side is looking for replacements in their front line following the departure of Cole Alexander, Jeremy Brockie, Keegan Ritchie and Dove Wome during the January transfer window.

The gaffer told the media they could soon welcome at least one new addition before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

But when asked if they will sign Billiat, Tinkler said the player was too expensive.

“No, that I can guarantee you Khama Billiat is not one of them. We don’t have blank cheque books here. We need to bring in at least two quality players,” he said.

The Zimbabwe international has less than six months left on his contract with Sundowns and has been linked with several ABSA Premiership and abroad clubs.
