The Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League (ZWSL) will feature 16 clubs this season from the previous 24, according to resolutions of the ZWSL board.
The league is set to kick off on the 24th of next month.
ZBC News Online reports that 14 teams from the 2017 league and two promoted from the northern and southern regional leagues – Harare City and Magwegwe – will make up the 16 team league.
However, clubs are demanding to know the criteria used in selecting those 14 top teams.
Another sticking point is whether non-competitive clubs and those who were unable to fulfil all their fixtures should be dropped from the national league.
