COSAFA Preview: Zimbabwe vs Lesotho

Zimbabwe continue their quest to defend the COSAFA Cup when they play Lesotho in semifinals this evening.

The Warriors beat Botswana 3-1 on penalties in the round of 8 while Lesotho edged out Swaziland 1-0.

Captain Ovidy Karuru is out with an ankle injury. The 29-year-old was at the receiving end of a nasty tackle in Sunday’s game and had to be stretchered off ten minutes into the second half.

Kick-off is 7:30 pm at New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Meanwhile, the two sides met in the same round last year, and the Warriors progressed to the final after a 4-3 victory.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa made two changes on the team that played on Sunday. Tafadzwa Kutinyu will start in captain Ovidy Karuru’s place while Terence Dzvukamanja replaces Talent Chawapiwa.
